The 2022 season has shown us the best of and worst of Tua.Sitting pretty with a guaranteed contract look for 2023 to be a bounce back season from Watson. Watson looks rusty after almost two season away from the huddle. With a potential coaching/scheme change and recovery from an injury I think the next couple of years could be off peak for Murray. The 2022 season has exposed some tensions between Murray and head coach Kliff Kingsbury. Murray is sitting at QB7 in points per game prior to suffering a torn ACL.Still, with Ceedee Lamb, Michael Gallup, and Dalton Schultz, passing weapons abound. An ankle injury a couple of seasons ago has limited his rushing production. As Prescott nears 30 years old, he is in the midst of his prime.Look for veteran coach Doug Pederson to keep adding weapons and for Lawrence to keep improving. Heralded as a generational prospect coming into the league, Lawrence has been steadily improving after a disastrous rookie season. The Bears have improved as the season has progressed, however, losing top receiver Darnell Mooney and Fields’ left shoulder dislocation are proving to be a challenge as we close out the season. On a team bereft of weapons Fields has flashed poise, toughness, and monumental athleticism. The youth movement gets underway at #7.Still, Lamar is one of the best dual threat quarterbacks in the league. Add the injuries into the mix and it makes for a forgettable season from Jackson. Bereft of weapons at receiver and the in the backfield the Raven’s production has landed on the shoulders of Jackson and tight end Mark Andrews with just moderate success. Jackson’s push for a new contract has not went to plan. This is a young team and he is the unquestioned leader. Armed with swagger and a slew of receiving weapons, Burrow is unflappable. The new Joe Cool is ruling the jungle in Cincinnati. In a season marred with injuries to multiple wide receivers and offensive linemen, Herbert is still on pace for almost 5000 yards passing and 30 touchdowns.Even with a career year from Miles Sanders, Hurts still has over 600 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns. The Eagles have embraced his strengths and surrounded him with weapons. Hurts has been ascending the rankings and sits as QB1 on the season. The Chiefs will be perennial contenders on the arm of Patrick Mahomes and so will dynasty managers. He is locked into the Chiefs with a 10-years contract and a head coach that isn’t going anywhere. Mahomes is one of the most prolific passers in the NFL. We are really splitting hairs between Mahomes and Allen.Allen recently signed a contract extension that ties him to the Bills until 2028 and he is just 26 years old. Allen is a big armed quarterback with great weapons. I am going to look at the quarterbacks first. Is the player in a stable situation? Is their contract set? Are they nearing an age cliff? All things you want to consider when building a dynasty. I take into account not just recent performance, but what the next 2-3 seasons might look like. This series will look at the top of each position. Dynasty Nerds has bevy of great resources to get you started down the path to dynasty glory. If you are just hearing about dynasty and want to dip your toe into the pool, you have come to the right place. For those who just started playing dynasty in the past year or two, you might be getting that start up fever. We have just closed out the 2022 regular season.
